Choosing Between an Air-Cooled and Water-Cooled Portable Air Conditioner

The primary differences between water and air cooled products are how they remove heat from a room and their connection points. Air cooled portable air conditioning units route hot air out of the room typically through standard ducting systems. Water cooled air conditioners are self contained to dissipate hot air but they need a connection to a steady water supply.

Then you’ll want to decide which unit is best based on the level of BTU energy you need for your room dimensions to get maximum benefit out of the unit. You can calculate your project dimensions using our BTUH calculator if you need help.

Options and Accessories for Portable AC

There are a variety of hybrid options available including an AC cooling unit and dehumidifier, air cooled air conditioner and heat pump, water cooled air conditioner and heat pump, and a water-cooled air conditioner with a self-contained fluid cooling system.

With the portable air conditioner and dehumidifier, you can purchase a mounting kit package providing optional additional air ducts, a stacking kit, server racks, or a ceiling mount.

For each water-cooled portable air conditioner, you are supplied with at minimum one hose kit and for the heat pump option it includes an optional infrared remote control.

Portable AC Cooling and Heating is Easy with ISC Sales

Our industrial portable air conditioners help remove hot air and moisture and replace it with cool air. Additionally, products with heat pumps remove cold air and replace it with heat. Our air-cooled units have BTU’s ranging from 10,000 BTU to 92,000 BTU and water-cooled units from 6,300 BTU to 23,000 BTU. These vary in cabinet size and cover a wide variety of applications regardless of the environment.

Construction

Our water-cooled ac units are built with a stainless steel cabinet and have fiberglass insulation along the internal cabinet.

Our 5 ton air-cooled portable air conditioner is made with durable metal to withstand either indoor or outdoor environments.

Applications

Homes, apartments, laboratories, computer rooms, hospitals, new construction, emergency HVAC needs, spot cooling for outdoor events, and more.
