Pepperl+Fuchs provides digital output modules for control of intrinsically-safe solenoid valves, LED clusters, beacons, horns, or other standard switching functions.

As part of the FB system remote I/O solution, these digital outputs feature terminals in protection type Ex i or Ex e for use in Zone 1 explosion-hazardous areas.

The digital output modules support lead breakage detection and short circuit detection. Galvanic isolation separates the inputs and outputs from bus and power. The modules are hot-swappable for quick and easy module replacement without time-consuming system shutdowns.

Features:

  • 1-channel versions with one digital output and two digital inputs are ideal for valve control.
  • Through transmission of two binary input signals from NAMUR sensors or mechanical contacts, they ensure reliable valve position feedback from the field.
  • 8-channel versions ensure the highest possible utilization of backplanes used for module connection, and enable compact remote I/O solutions with large channel numbers.
  • Additionally, these modules feature shutdown inputs for bus-independent safety applications.
