Frequency measurement is used to detect several process variables on rotating machines and flow transmitters.
Supplied with passive signals from NAMUR sensors, optocouplers or volt-free contacts, the frequency input modules in our FB system remote I/O solution enable measurement of such parameters and detection of rotational direction.
Our frequency input modules feature Ex ia or Ex e terminals for use in Zone 1 explosion-hazardous areas and are available in 1-channel versions, which makes them perfect for users who value system granularity and easy commissioning. The modules support lead breakage detection and short circuit detection. Galvanic isolation separates the inputs from bus and power. In addition, our frequency inputs are hot-swappable, allowing quick and easy module replacement without time-consuming system shutdowns.
