The Eaton Model 50 Plug Type Duplex Strainer, also called a twin basket strainer, consists of two separate high-quality strainer baskets and a pressure rated plug valve. A diverter plug is automatically positioned into precisely the right spot by using integral stops. The entire switching operation takes fewer than 30 seconds, no tools required.
The unique port design of the diverter plug makes it possible for the flow to never have to stop processes due to cleaning. When one strainer basket becomes full of particulates and solids, flow is switched to the other basket by turning the operating handle of the strainer. The first basket is removed, cleaned and is ready for use again.
