Type Z Purge and Pressurization Systems - 1,000 SeriesThe 1000 series Type Y and Z purge system is rated for Class I, Division 1 to Division 2 area applications or Class II, Division 1 to Division 2 applications. This unit conforms to NFPA 496 & ISA 12.4 standards, and is UL, cUL & FM certified. The 1,000 series is a rapid exchange purging system that operates on a supply of compressed air or inert gas. It regulates and monitors pressure within one or more sealed enclosures, in order to rapidly remove and prevent flammable vapor accumulation within the enclosure.

Type Z Purge and Pressurization Systems - 3,000 SeriesThe 3000 series rapid exchange purge system is available for Type Y, Z and Ex [pz] applications as one model number. This globally certified purge system meets Class/Division and ATEX standards. The 3,000 series is simple but has a very effective, well-proven design. These units are UL, cUL, ATEX , FM classified and conform to NFPA 496, and ATEX directives. It regulates and monitors pressure inside sealed enclosures, in order to prevent flammable vapor from contaminating the enclosure.

The Type Z Purge and Pressurization Systems provide easy selection, installation, and operation for enclosures located in Division 2 / Zone 2 hazardous areas. This equipment combines automation and configuration functions to support any application. Complete with alarms, purging, and enclosure power, the Z series purge and pressurization system is the workhorse for safeguarding enclosures in hazardous locations.

These units operate by initially purging to remove any internal explosive gases or dust. Once that is accomplished, the enclosure is pressurized with a protective air, or inert gas. This internal enclosure pressure prevents any external explosive gases or dust from entering the enclosure. Purging and pressurizing systems are one of the most versatile explosion protection methods for taking standard enclosures and adapting them for safe installation in hazardous areas.

Ex pz

The Ex pz series of purge units convert a standard enclosure, and it’s installed equipment into a system safe for installation in hazardous areas. Once installed in a purged enclosure, it can be used directly in hazardous areas. The Ex pz solution consists of a control unit, vent and solenoid valves. These units combine the best automation and configurable functions to support even the most difficult applications. These automatic rapid purge systems provide alarm, pressurization, purging and power to almost any enclosure.

The Ex pz purge systems conform to NFPA 496 and ISA 12.4 standards and are ATEX, IECEx, and UL certified. The technique of pressurizing and purging enclosures is to prevent flammable atmospheres from contaminating sensitive equipment.
