Marketing Manager

ISC is looking for a passionate, driven individual to join the high-energy, hyper-growth ISC organization as a Marketing Manager

Marketing Operations & Technology is a newly formed function at ISC that has been put in place to help us drive improvement in the operational processes and technology that form the backbone of our marketing department. 

The Marketing Operations Manager position will be an individual contributor reporting to the Director of Marketing. This position will work closely with a variety of intra-department stakeholders (e.g. Paid Search, Affiliate, Marketplace, Social teams) as well as partner groups in our Technology organization such as Data Engineering.

The responsibilities and duties of this role are anticipated to be diverse and dynamic. A variety of different skills and backgrounds could lead to success. If you have a background in business analysis, project management, process management, continuous improvement, and/or automation you are encouraged to apply. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Ownership for various operational processes that support marketing objectives e.g. list pulling, promotional pricing execution, offer code setup, landing page setup, etc. 
  • Ensure processes are standardized, documented, and adhered to ensuring repeatable, high-quality outcomes for the department 
  • Drive operational efficiencies, cost savings, and labor savings through continuous improvement and automation of manual work 
  • Ensure the uptime and reliability of the data feeds that power our advertising and marketing automation platforms
  • Ensure consistent and reliable access to reporting data for marketing team members as your internal customer 

Requirements & Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of professional experience in Marketing / IT / Marketing Operations preferably at large distribution / retail companies with some degree of technical expertise
  • Experience with Google Marketing Platform and Salesforce Marketing Cloud preferred
  • Candidate must be self-directed and effective working independently, yet equally comfortable contributing in a fast-paced team environment
  • Ability to perform keyword research, write optimized HTML tags on internal linking improvements, content creation and promotion, and schema mark-up
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Familiarity with standard word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation software (Office or Gsuite)

Education/Certification:

Category Manager

Product Line Expansion for ISC is a core part of our strategy. We desire to have all products for all business customers, so we need to continuously add new products. As a member of the Core categories this role plays a highly strategic role in the future of ISC. Core Categories are a key contributor to our growth in both sales and category expansion. Categories that are currently considered in our Core group include (but not limited to) Electrical, Telecom, Plumbing, Safety, Janitorial and Cleaning Supplies, Lighting, Heating & Cooling, Industrial Supplies, Liquid Filtration, and Compressed Air Systems. 

Category Manager’s success will be defined by unlocking the future portfolio with identification and development of new supplier relationships as well as accelerating the sales of the existing portfolio of products. We expect our Category Managers to be thought leaders, able to think big and create a scalable vision, and be able to solve problems unique to their categories to be successful. The Category Manager is responsible for suppliers and categories but in addition you will be hands-on in general management of your lines and you’ll touch many areas within ISC. As such, you’ll need strong internal influence skills to build and maintain relationships and understand many of the inner workings of our business. We have vast amounts of data that you’ll need to be able to digest and turn into actionable plans to manage your business. A successful candidate will be able to be an effective communicator, highly influential, have the ability to think big, bias for action, strong business acumen and lead with curiosity. 

Responsibilities

  • Understand vertical market segments, what it takes to be successful and evaluate if/how ISC is able to participate in the segment.
  • Demonstrate solid data analytics skills to be able to mine data, understand the drivers of your business, and create appropriate strategies.

Associate Category Manager

The Associate Category Manager partners with the Category Manager and Director of Marketing in implementing product line expansion tactics and/or leads product lines that align with our company strategy of an endless assortment for our customers and providing them the best experience possible in content, products, and delivery. This position will work in a team environment with a focus on developing insights, identifying opportunities, and communicating recommendations to lead future industry growth to our internal partners and external suppliers. In addition, they will drive and support activities that help ISC sell more products and manage cost and profitability. Provide our customers the most attractive and profitable product offering in the industry. The Associate Category Manager will execute reporting and analysis to support the team and assigned product categories to inform on category and supplier performance, collaborate closely with cross-functional partners throughout the business, and participate in all aspects of supplier relationship management. The Associate Category Manager will be a key liaison with internal partners to help drive customer experience and sales performance.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with the Director of Marketing on management of supplier relationships
  • Develop and grow existing supplier relationships through driving mutually beneficial strategies including assortment expansion, content enrichment, and lead time improvement
  • Work with suppliers to acquire comprehensive product information including product specifications, product images and additional product content (e.g. videos). 
  • Participate in meetings and negotiations with existing and new suppliers. This includes securing the terms of supplier contracts and setting expectations for the onboarding process and ongoing partnership
  • Manage and update reports regarding new suppliers, SKU productivity, sales performance, and assortment gaps
  • Continually and proactively monitor the financial performance of categories and suppliers to measure against the category product strategies and KPI’s to ensure we are providing an awesome customer experience
  • Analyze our supplier, brand, and SKU performance, promotional programs and identify opportunities for improvement and expansion
  • Communicate Supplier and Brand revenue and profitability information (based on the above analysis) to our CMs, and as needed to our Leadership teams so that their own assortment decisions maximize sales and profit
  • Closely collaborate with the Pricing Team to ensure product pricing strategies are implemented consistently and are in alignment with the overall ISC pricing strategies, as well as gather supplier MSRP and MAP pricing as needed and manage any pricing violations.
  • Collaborate with the Direct Marketing and Promotions organization to align on relevant strategies including supplier funded marketing and hot buy process.
  • Partner with Team Members in identifying new supplier relationships through market research, trade show attendance and collaboration with the Business Development team
  • Become a subject matter expert with our reporting systems
  • Complete ad-hoc requests and special projects in a timely and accurate fashion

Product Data Specialist

The Product Data Specialist is responsible for executing and maintaining the overall standards and management of our product information asset, encompassing over +50K products and growing.  They will support all initiatives enabling data integrity within our core systems and product data sets.  They will be responsible for helping define and document product data standards in addition to help implement and improve the organization’s product data governance strategy.  Their efforts will drive a higher quality of data across the organization resulting in an improved customer experience.

Responsibilities

  • Improve the quality of data within our core systems and introduce consistency across the business.
  • Execute data cleansing exercises, supporting data normalization practices, and establishing governance strategies to maintain the integrity of our data long term
  • Utilize data and established KPIs to identify continuous improvement opportunities around standardization and governance guidelines
  • Assist with the creation and documentation of product data quality standards for the organization
  • Build and publish Master product data dictionaries, working with cross functional teams to gain understanding and alignment

Digital Marketing Specialist

ISC is seeking a motivated, curious, and data-centric individual to help implement and drive category growth strategies. The Digital Merchandising Specialist is responsible for executing cross-category strategies to improve customer’s navigation and findability onsite. This includes optimizing and implementing Search & Browse tactics to improve findability and the customer facing experiences. The Merchandising Specialist will be partnering with the Merchandising Managers to improve customer navigation and will report to the Director of Marketing.

Responsibilities

  • Support Merchandising roadmaps to positively influence product categories engagement and conversion through the digital eCommerce funnel.
  • Ensure proper customer facing product categorization to enable customers to find relevant products quickly

SEO Specialist

ISC is looking for a bright, hard-working, and driven individual to join our team as a Search Engine Optimization (SEO) Specialist. We are looking for someone who is passionate about SEO, who will help evangelize the function, and who will ultimately help build our company up to be the SEO leader in our space. In order to be successful, candidates must be resourceful, creative, and persistent. We’re a hyper-growth, mega-eCommerce site (50K+ URLs) that’s expanding by thousands of new pages each year, so being able to think and work at scale will also be key. 
 
This position will report to the Director of Marketing. You can expect a high degree of cross-functional interaction with partners across Digital Marketing, Merchandising, Software Engineering, Analytics, and other teams.  

Responsibilities

  • Keyword research leading to both large-scale content recommendations and suggestions to drive content marketing strategy
  • Identify opportunities for new traffic and recommending adjustments to taxonomy on a category-by-category basis
  • Identify potential improvements to paid search strategy based on performance data from organic search

The Business Development Manager is responsible for identifying and recruiting prospective B2B supplier partners to support ISC in building an endless assortment of products that allows our customers to find more, do more and be more. 

Responsibilities

  • Identify, prospect, and sell a partnership to potential supplier partners.  Create opportunities to discuss how ISC can create significant value for them in digital channels.  
  • Communicate, across a range of audiences, from Fortune 500 C-Level executives to highly successful entrepreneurs, ISC’s ability to rapidly drive meaningful contribution margin for their business.  
  • Structure and negotiate partnership agreements/contracts with complex terms to build strong strategic partnerships.  
  • Work with our Category Management & Supply Chain Teams to ensure that we have an effective partner on-boarding process and assist in the hand-off of completed partnership agreements to the business for successful implementation.
